Description : Cartridge Brass also known as yellow brass has a nominal composition of 70% copper and 30% zinc. It has excellent to good corrosion resistance in most environments, but is not suitable for use with certain materials, such as acetic acid, moist ammonia or ammonia compounds, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. It is the most ductile of the brasses and has superior cold workability, good hot formability, and is used in greater quantity than any other brasses.

Description : RED BRASS is the most durable of all metals for commercial USAGE. Normally composed of 85% copper and 15% zinc, this alloy has excellent resistance against dezincification, season cracking and pitting. This has a rich inherent color, which has become extremely popular as an outdoor metal and has been found to be very important in modern architecture. IT IS also known as NORDIC Brass.

High tensile brass consists of a duplex structure. Developed for more exacting applications where strength and corrosion resistance are required. Also referred to as a manganese bronze the CW721R / CZ114 has additions of aluminium, iron, tin and manganese that are added to the basic 60/40 brass matrix, creating a variety of properties to benefit the designer.
The aluminium and tin content gives the CW721R / CZ114 a brighter finish and is the main reason for the increase in corrosion resistance. The iron and manganese additions also improve the strength level, with the iron also acting a grain refiner. Some of the other benefits of the CW721R / CZ114 grade are a very good hot working capacity to allow for hot stamping and a good machinability

It is a rich golden colour with the best combination of strength, ductility and corrosion resistance of the plain copper-zinc alloys. It weathers to a rich bronze colour, and can be supplied in pre-patinated colours ranging from deep brown to green.
It has a lower rate of work hardening than the copper-zinc alloys with higher zinc content, such as 260 and 272. This is an advantage in multistage pressing applications without interstage annealing. It has excellent deep drawing characteristics and resistance to pitting corrosion when exposed to severe weather and water environments.

Muntz metal has a number of important qualities; one of the most valued of these is its color. Muntz is commonly used as an architectural metal in sheet and specific shapes. Due to the structure of the metal, it is stronger, harder, and more rigid than other forms of brass. At red heat, Copper Alloy C280 is extremely plastic and very well suited to hot forging, pressing, and stamping. The alloy is readily soldered and brazed.

Silicon brasses are part of the subgroup of high strength brasses. These materials contain less than 20% zinc and less than 6% silicon. The silicon brasses are solid solution strengthened. These silicon brasses are typically chosen because of their high strength and moderately high corrosion resistance. The conductivity of the silicon brasses is much less than that of unalloyed copper. Silicon brass castings exhibit moderate strength and very good aqueous and atmospheric corrosion resistance.
