Aluminum Bronze: C614, C630, C642, C954, C955 and C959. Aluminum bronze is the highest strength standard copper based alloy. Aluminum in conjunction with iron and nickel in C955 acts as a strengthener in these alloys. Farmer’s continually supplies aluminum bronze copper alloys in plate, sheet, and bar. All aluminum bronzes can be heat treated, thereby increasing their strength. Aluminum bronze alloys have high strength, hardness and corrosion resistance, as well as toughness and good wear resistance.

Copper nickel alloys, also known as Cu-Ni, offers excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine salt water environments. Copper nickel alloys that are generally chosen for sea water parts and service equipment contains 10 to 30 percent nickel. These various alloys also have important additions of iron and manganese, which are necessary to maintain good corrosion resistance in the harsh environments. Aside from being very corrosion resistant to sea water, copper nickel alloys are very thermally stable. Copper nickel is most commonly used in applications such as electrical and electronic products, tubes for condensers in ships and power plants, various marine products, including valves, pumps, fittings, and sheathing for ship hulls.

Leaded Commercial Bronze combines the natural corrosion resistance with the machinability typical of leaded brasses. The relatively low zinc content provides excellent corrosion resistance in potable water along with a pleasing golden color that matches hardware. It is also suitable for outdoor use due to its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and to corrosion in general, but where the highest strength is not required.
